Serenity is Certainty

Some mornings, more than others, the task list seems insurmountable. Especially right before a holiday like Thanksgiving where so much needs to be done at work, at home and for the kids school.

The serenity prayer is the perfect prayer for discernment - I need the wisdom of God to help me figure out what is in my control and what is outside it. Once I figure out, then I can take the next step and do the next needed thing.

Serenity is certainty. It is that blessed assurance that Jesus is walking this walk with us. It is that fire of love that burns steady in our soul, lights our path so we stay on track, focused..

It is certainty that because we do the next right thing, rather than freak out about the 5 other things that are down the road.. we keep walking in faith and trust that God will take care of the rest.

"God, Grant me serenity to overcome any distractions, to let go of that which is out of my control. Calm my mind, provide me with your peace, as I trust that all the tasks before me can be accomplished through trust in You."

Ive prayed it for the last three hours and I am still not even out of my pajamas.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
